The other day, I had the pleasure of working with a talented young actress who was in need of new headshots.
We worked on getting a variety of expressions for her to use in her portfolio. Her agent said that one of the biggest genres right now is apocalyptic movies and the actors need to be able to convey fear in their headshots. I always tell people that when your eyes are big, it conveys either confusion or fear. And this headshot below is an example of exactly what I’m talking about. Callie does an outstanding job here and one reason is that you can see a lot of the white of her eyes.
One final look we wanted to get was a “mean girl” expression. This is much harder to pull off than you might expect. Callie did this by making sure that she didn’t have a hint of a smile at all on her face.
It was so much fun working with you, Callie, and I hope your new headshots get you lots of auditions in the future!
